Raised behind the Iron Curtain, Eva Koleva Timothy learned early on to internalize a sense of creative freedom and enthusiasm in a very bleak and oppressive environment. She never had a camera growing up but was still constantly taking pictures in her mind. Every detail, Eva recalls, that bespoke to lifees beauty, its wonder, and the reminder of a world beyond that gray Communist curtain was captured in vivid mental detail and would later become the source of much of her artistic inspiration.
